The grand finale of the Coker-Aguda Chairman’s Cup 2025, the first of its kind in the LCDA, was held on Friday, October 31, 2025, at the Femi Gbajabiamila Mini Stadium, Coker. It concluded in spectacular fashion, drawing a large and jubilant crowd from across all wards.
The tournament, conceived and initiated by Hon. Ogidan Azeez, Executive Chairman of Coker-Aguda LCDA, forms part of his administration’s blueprint to empower young people, promote unity, and create platforms for discovering sporting talent.
Third-Place Match
Osho Ward 4-2 Coker Ward
The third-place encounter saw Osho Ward claim victory over Coker Ward in a thrilling six-goal match, securing the bronze medal after a spirited contest.
Final Match
Bale Ward 0-0 Nuru Oniwo Ward (5-4 on penalties)
In a tightly contested final, both teams displayed exceptional skill and determination, holding each other to a goalless draw in regulation time. Bale Ward eventually triumphed 5-4 on penalties to become champions of the maiden Coker-Aguda Chairman’s Cup.

The event was attended by Hon. Ogidan Azeez, councillors, council management and staff, and community leaders, including Coker-Aguda CDC Chairman Alhaji Sanni Ogidan; APC Deputy Apex Leader Alhaji Ademola Dadanla; Alhaja Morufat Memudu; ward chairmen; and other distinguished personalities.
In his closing remarks, Hon. Ogidan congratulated all participating teams and commended the organising committee. He announced that outstanding players would be selected to represent Coker-Aguda LCDA at the forthcoming APC Lagos State Chairman’s Cup.
The Chairman reaffirmed that the competition would become an annual event and revealed plans for a broader sporting festival, Coker-Aguda Games (CAGAMS), featuring multiple sports and greater rewards.
